Agreeing with the comments below. This is an outstandingly nice village pub, well connected into the community, and easy to go into on one's own (not always the case for women even in these days!)
There is always something going on, the food is lovely and I'm told that goes for the beer too.

All rather jolly, and certainly benefiting from a mixed throng of local punters on
the Friday night me and a couple of chums dropped by. The Fullers mark had been made,
but other local beers were available and full advantage was taken of these. No regrets
here, as the ale was kept well and prices weren't ludicrously over-

I visited so many boozers in the ensuing days I can't really say much more about this at the moment, other than I would be happy to go back if I found myself in the area again.

An outstanding village pub. Good beer, great and varied food and always a warm welcome to customers new and old. If only more were like this!

New landlord Mike and his wife Lena have transformed the pub in the Square at Emsworth into the centre of the community. There are events and activities at the pub most weekends and a good variety of food and drink. The local beer is well kept and the general atmosphere is welcoming and cosy. Lena's Russian roots have inspired not only dishes of that country but a potpourri of other cooking styles on offer including Thai, Indian and French! Scotty

Stayed in their accommodation for 2 nights with my partner and 10 month old son.We stayed in July 2011 for Goodwood Festival of Speed and the room and private patio were beautiful. I couldnt of wished for more. The food was lovely and the drink was all reasonably priced. The atmosphere was great and our hosts were very nice. Its a shame they only have the 1 room as i would love to bring my friends. I would recommend this place to everyone and look forward to returning in the future. |

This village pub and Inn is excellent It has so much to offer. From music to a varied menu and great garden for the children and family. Well worth a visit even though the landlord is like Basil Fawlty. Excellent service and great staff and atmosphere |

We just wanted to say how good our experience in your pub was yesterday evening.
We arrived in Westbourne to see John Otway at the start of your festival and knew
that we wanted to eat somewhere before the 'show' (If you'd seen him you'd know what
